1. Who we are
House Rescue Handyman is a handyman services business based on Staten Island, New York, serving Staten Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan. This privacy policy applies to houserescue-handyman.com and any communication channels we run (phone, text, email, social media).
2. What we collect
We collect information you give us directly when you contact us or book a job:
- Contact information — name, phone number, email address, and street address (for the job site).
- Job details — descriptions of the work you want done, photos you send, and any additional context (neighborhood, scheduling preferences).
- Communications — the content of phone calls, texts, emails, and chat messages with us.
- Payment information — the details needed to take payment when you pay by card or check. Card payments are handled by a third-party payment processor.
We also collect basic information automatically when you visit the site:
- Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps. Used for security and aggregate traffic figures, not tied to your identity.
3. How we use it
We use the information you give us to:
- Reply to your inquiry and provide a written estimate.
- Schedule and complete the work you've hired us for.
- Send you reminders and follow-ups about the job (text and email).
- Take payment.
- Follow up on any problem with work we've done.
- Send you the text messages you have opted in to, as described in the SMS section of our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your information.
4. Who we share it with
We share information with the service providers we use to run the business:
- GoHighLevel (GHL) — our CRM and messaging platform. Stores your contact info, job history, and message threads.
- Netlify — hosts this website. Standard server logs only.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces on this site, and receives your IP address when it does.
- Our payment processor — handles card payments.
- Our email provider — handles email we send and receive.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We may share information with law enforcement or regulators if legally required (subpoena, court order).
5. Your rights
You can:
- Access a copy of the information we have about you. Email nick@houserescue-handyman.com to ask for it.
- Correct incorrect information. Same email.
- Delete your information. We'll delete what we can, while keeping what we're legally required to keep.
- Opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, or of email by asking us to stop.
6. Cookies and tracking
This site does not use analytics or advertising trackers. The only cookies it uses are the ones our chat widget needs in order to work.
7. Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
