Meet Nick, the owner.

I grew up in Montenegro, a small country in Europe, and some of my earliest memories are of working on construction projects alongside my father and brother. My father was a contractor his whole life, and almost everything my brother and I know, we learned from him.

My first real job was as a server, but every free moment I had, I was helping my father on his projects. Nothing beat the moment a job was finished and I got to see the look on a happy client’s face.

In 2015, I moved to New York City and worked maintenance for a small company while keeping my evening job as a server. Life in the Big Apple moved fast, so in 2019 I made the move to Naples, Florida, where I met my wife. Not knowing many people, I found work the easiest way I could, first at 3rd Street in fine dining, and later at the famous Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort. All the while, I kept taking on small projects for friends and family, but I never took the step to make it my main job.

Still, I never stopped thinking about those projects back home with my father, and the happy faces of the people we worked for. So in 2024, I started House Rescue Handyman and committed to building my own business with one simple goal: to make every client as happy as my father made his.

Today I’m back in New York, based on Staten Island and working across Staten Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan.
